Little Known Watch Facts

Longines began in 1832 when Auguste Agassiz founded a watch-making workshop in St. Imier in the Swiss Mountains. In 1867, Longines received their first of many prizes at the World Expo in Paris for an outstanding achievement in pocket watch design. Longines gained a reputation for creating watches that would help to shape history as they were worn on the wrists of such pioneers as Amelia Earhart and Charles Lindberg who designed the still famous Hour Angle aviator watch.
